Frequently Asked Questions

We welcome your questions. We will be happy to respond via e-mail or simply calling us. You may even see your question posted in the near future.

DEATH CERTIFICATES

Q. How long until we may pick up the death certificates?

A. The death certificates cannot be filed with the county until 1) all the vital statistics are obtained from the family 2) the physician has signed with the cause of death 3) approval is granted from the County Medical Examiner (When cremation or burial at sea is requested.)

C. The length of time required to get the certified copies back from the Health Department, once filed, varies from county to county. On average, we have the certified copies available in one week. Death certificates may be expedited for an additional fee.

CREMATION

Q. Why do some funeral homes charge $700 for basic cremations and other places charge $2000.00+?

A. Some cremation places are registered by the State of Florida as Direct Disposers. This means they take a few hours of classes and a test to get registered with the State to perform basic cremations only. They are not allowed to offer any type of Funeral Service unless they are licensed by the State as a Funeral Home and have a Licensed Funeral Director make the at-need funeral arrangements. Also, some cremation providers may advertise a low cremation price then add hidden charges at the time of arrangements. Always get the total cost for the services you are seeking in writing when researching prices.

C. We are a full-service funeral home. In order to provide the most accurate and complete information, all the families we serve make arrangements with a licensed funeral director. We feel this benefits the families needs to the fullest whether it's basic cremation or a cremation with full services. We welcome all questions.

Q. How long until we may pick up the urn?

A. Florida require a min. 48 hour waiting period from the time of death until the cremation may occur. However, before we can proceed with the cremation, we must have 3 items completed. 1) Cremation request signed by the legal next of kin, 2) A death certificate signed by a physician, 3) Approval from the County Medical Examiner.

C. Doctors have up until 72 hours to sign the death certificate. Weekends and holidays may take longer to get the signature. On average, it takes us 3-5 days to return the urn.

BURIAL

Q. Why do prices of funeral services vary from funeral home to funeral home?

A. Funeral service prices vary because funeral homes operate differently and have varying overhead. Often times families      pay for the use of the large buildings, stock holder profits and not necessarily for the quality of service.

C. We are not a discount funeral home. However, we can save you thousands on services and merchandise compared to the conglomerate funeral homes in our area. Personal service and value is the key to our success. We have been told repeatedly, we are the best kept secret in Boca Raton.
